The late afternoon light was already beginning to soften as they arrived at Giardino degli Aranci. It looked at first, like a simple walk through one of Rome’s most beautiful gardens. In reality, it was the beginning of such an important day! The photographer (in incognito mode!) was walking inside the park alongside them. After having recognized each other without drawing any attention. Nothing suggested that a proposal in Rome was just a few minutes away!

A Letter Before the Proposal
Rather than stopping at the main viewpoint, we continued towards the quieter terraces overlooking the city from above. The city stretched across the horizon beyond the trees. But before reaching for the ring, he took a folded letter from his pocket. Standing side by side, he read the letter he had carefully prepared. Taking his time before asking the question that had brought them there. The surprise was complete. And the big question soon arrived as he dropped to one knee.

A few moments later, she said yes!
After the proposal, the anticipation gave way to excitement, joy and happiness! We stayed in the garden for a photoshoot celebrating being together in Rome! Alongside relaxed portraits. We photographed engagement ring close-up images together with a series of lighter, more playful photographs. As we wandered beneath the Mediterranean pine trees. Walking naturally from one area of the garden to another. The conversation, smiles, and laughter became part of the photographs themselves!
Leaving the garden, we continued towards the Fontana del Mascherone di Santa Sabina. Where we created a final series of portraits around the historic fountain. Before finishing the session, we stopped in front of Basilica of Santa Sabina, whose simple façade provided an elegant setting for the last set of photographs!

A Perfect Way to Begin the Next Chapter
By the end of the photoshoot in Italy, the letter, the surprise, and the quiet terrace overlooking Rome. Had given way to an afternoon filled with photographs, conversation, and shared excitement. Looking back, what made this proposal special was not only the location or the golden light. It was choosing to slow the moment down. Beginning with a personal letter before asking the question transformed the moment into something that felt deeply personal from the very first words to the final portraits of this wonderful travel photoshoot in Rome!
