Proposing at Golden Hour by the Lake
This Villa Borghese proposal began in soft afternoon light at the edge of the lake. The water was still. The Temple of Aesculapius reflected quietly on the far side. The trees filtered the sun into a warm gentle glow. He proposed near the water by going down on one knee. She looked surprised, happy, followed by a joyful yes! A nice and private proposal in Rome in one of the city’s most beautiful parks.
After proposing we introduced ourselves with the photographer. Which had stayed hidden taking candid shots from a distance. And continued on with an engagement photo session in around the park area. Alternating posed portraits with small moments of laughter and joy between picture frames.

Through the Gardens After the Villa Borghese Proposal
From the lake we continued into the park. The light grew warmer as the photographer from Rome lead the photoshoot through the park. Shooting natural portraits while walking around, pausing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The soft golden hour light gave these engagement photos in Rome a quiet atmosphere as we reached the Diana temple.
At the Temple of Diana
The Temple of Diana appeared at the end of the pathway. It is an open circle of pale marble columns under a shallow dome. The light moved cleanly between the columns and across the steps. We walked up to it and stood by the columns. Some portraits were more posed against the classical lines. Others stayed candid as the columns formed a simple, elegant backdrop for the engagement portraits.

Ending the photo session at the Pincio Terrace
When we left the temple the light had deepened. The walk to the Pincio Terrace felt like a natural end of the afternoon. From the terrace the city of Rome opened out below. Rooftops, domes, and the distant curve of the river stayed held in soft light. We stood by the stone railing looking across capturing beautiful moments of being engaged in Rome!
